MT. MARGARET, LADY MOON, MOLLY LAKE

Cornerstone was the General Contractor for the construction of the Mount Margaret, Lady Moon, Molly Lake and Elkhorn Creek Trailheads for the United States Forest Service. The project involved the unique challenge of sequencing of construction at four different and relatively isolated areas. The work involved site clearing and grubbing, excavation, and embankment, construction of crusher fine trails, construction of vault toilets, miscellaneous signage, appurtenant structures and fencing.

SCHRADER'S COUNTRY STORE REMODEL

Schrader Oil Company of Fort Collins owned and operated a gas station constructed in 1968 on Hwy 34 in Estes Park, Colorado. We stripped the interior sales area and service garage which included mitigating asbestos and other hazardous materials and removal of hydraulic lifts. The remodeled construction features included installing commercial refrigeration systems, new retail fixtures including beverage and breakfast bars, remodeling bathrooms making them ADA accessible, upgrading the fuel dispensing systems, installation of a new canopy, and landscape finishes. The project was completed in five months to accommodate a reopening prior to the busy summer tourist season in Estes Park.

OUR LADY OF THE MOUNTAINS ADDITION

The project featured a 4600 square foot log addition and a significant remodel to the existing structure. The original building was constructed in 1948 and a critical component of this project was to honor the historic features of the archetypal structure while incorporating modern elements for parishioner use. Design elements included installing life safety upgrades to the existing structure, matching new log and stone features of the 1948 construction.

RIVERSIDE/ELKHORN INTERSECTION

The intersection project was performed to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety in the Town of Estes Park. We demolished the existing intersection, reinstalled infrastructure, built new concrete curb, gutters, sidewalks, islands, and planters. We installed new signal poles and signage, and repaved the intersection. The project was completed within three weeks of the notice to proceed to accommodate the Christmas parade. The project was under budget.
